About this object
An ecru, cream mat made of a combination of lace and embroidery. The center motif is needle lace with 2 lions flanking a crown and shield. On the shield is stitched 1974/BELGIUM/1978. A banner under this says LUNION FAIT LAT FORGE. There are embroidered flower and leaf motifs at each corner of this center needle lace rectangle. The flower and leaves are embroidered on a fine linen. This is all stitched to a Belgian rosaline perle bobbin lace frame which appears much older than the center motif.
