About this object

An ecru Gros Point de Venise needle lace edging. The main body has flowers and leaves as the design with heavy fillings. The bars connecting the designs have picots. The needle egrelure or footing is the original as the older ones are usually of a series of crossed bars demonstrated by this one. One end of the edging is finished with a straight buttonholed line while the other end is cut. The bottom edge of this piece is a narrow needle scallop edge with alternating three and five loops.
