About this object
A white rectangular tablecloth edged with a scalloped filet lace in a leafy pattern. The interior of the cloth is linen with large filet lace insets of classical scenes including Diana hunting and Apollo with attendants. Other large insets of classical figures are executed in Venise needle lace. Many small insets of Venise needle lace depict musical putti, grffins, fauns, etc. The tablecloth is further decorated with white embroidery and cutwork scrolls.
