About this object
Embroidery was originally a handbag in a bowl shape. The embroidery is in very small stitches on black silk taffeta. There are two roses at top and bottom, surrounding an oval piece of embroidery. The central portion is shaped like a flower with 14 petals of black silk which are embroidered with small flowers and leaves. The center has a small white dot. Around the petals is applique beige silk, with a scalloped edge. Around the edge of the beige silk are more flowers and leaves which extend onto the black silk of the purse. This is enclosed in an oval and mounted onto more material to keep it flat.
