About this object

The musicians are carved in ivory and they stand on barrels carved in wood. The main part of the barrels is in a natural color and the part representing the iron hoops is stained black. They have been carved from several pieces of ivory and pierced together. .6 plays the guitar/mandolin. He holds the neck with his left hand and plays with his right. He wears a pointed hat, a long coat, trousers and boots.
