The mull is carved to represent a squatting hare with his head turned slightly to the right. The hare's eyes are blue beads with black centers. The cover is on the bottom and is made in two parts, with only one part opening. The silver mounting around the lid is plain, and the thumbpiece is made in silver. There is an oval silver medallion on the cover.
