About this object
Mirror has frame covered in plaques of morse ivory some engraved in openwork and some engraved with flowers and filled with red and green paint. At top is an openwork panel with the monogram of the original owner. On either side are panels engraved, two with potted plants, the others engraved with clusters of leaves and flowers filled in with green and red. Around the side are six openwork panels, one with a cupid and two with animals in rococo scrollwork. The other panels have engraved potted plants and flowers and leaves filled in with dogs chasing animals in rococo scrolls. Other panels are engraved with flowers and leaves filled in with red and green colors.
