About this object

The table has a rectangular box-like top that is hinged and lifts up. There is a shallow drawer in the front with a metal pull. It stands on standards in the shape of a lyre with curving sides that end in swans heads. The top is made in marquetry with a motif set in a round medallion of two horns and a lyre and a book. On the front is a design in marquetry of two griffns and a vine scroll with rosettes with the same design on either end. The base is flat and solid, and the front edge curves inward. There is a round marquetry medallion with a rosette in the center of the bottom plinth.
