About this object
The screen has two panels, each with a slightly arched top. Each side of the screen has a lacquer panel set in a wooden frame which has been deeply carved with dragons and scrolls. The lacquered panels are decorated with large applied flowers, leaves and stems in high relief in ivory and wood. On the right panel are two flying birds and a floral stem with large flowers. On the left panel is a single flying bird and one butterfly, also with a floral stem. Below each panel is a section carved with birds and scrolls. It is hinged in the center.
