About this object

The stool has a seat and legs that are semi-circular in shape. They form an X where they meet in the center. There is no back. The four finials of the seat are carved in the form of grotesque bearded animal heads with open mouths. There is a mask carved in high relief at each side. It stands on four feet carved as lion paws. It has four turned stretchers, and an upholstered seat in red crushed velvet.
