About this object

The rocking chair is wood with the back and seat upholstered in green cut velvet. At the top of the back are two putti holding a shield topped by a palmette. The chair has curved arms ending in scrolls at the back and with winged putti on the front of each. The bottom sides are carved with a chimera with a bird’s head and snake’s tail. The rockers end in scrolls and are connected with a turned stretcher at the front and back.
