About this object
The table has a rectangular top, a shaped apron which contains one side drawer, and a lower shelf. It stands on slight long curved legs. The top with slightly projecting corners is covered with a marquetry panel representing two branching sprays of roses within a curving frame with scrolled corners containing fretwork. The sides of the table and the lower shelf are covered with an overall pattern of fretwork of diamonds each enclosing a single blossom with two leaves, all in marquetry. The legs taper down to leafy sabots, and the knees have long gilt bronze mounts incorporating a scale motif and a spray of roses. Plain brass moundings edge the top, lower shelf and three faces of the legs. There is one drawer at the narrow end of the table.
