About this object

In Louis XVI style; upholstered back, arms and separate seat cushion in light blue and beige cut velvet with large cartouches with wreaths and bows. At top of back, a straight rail with pointed arch motif and at each side a spherical fluted finial. Arms slightly outflaring ending in scrolls with rosettes. Front supports fluted wit acanthus leaves slightly bulging at base. Seven short tapered channelled legs. On the front of the seat are four squares containing rosettes and between them an arch motif similar to that on the rail at the top of the back plus a row of beads.
