About this object
The vase is urn shaped with a flaring lip and narrow neck. It has a bulbous body and a pedestal foot. It is painted all over in gold and touches of red and black. The neck is decorated with bands of abstract motifs. On the body are painted many little figures with haloes and wearing long robes standing in two tiers. This is Satsuma ware.
