About this object

The statuette represents is a nymph with a swan. This possibly depicts Leda and the Swan. To her left is a small winged Cupid who holds his left hand to his mouth and holds onto Leda's leg with his right hand. He kneels and has a quiver on his back. The nude nymph is seated on a rocky ledge from which extends a grayish branch with berries and green leaves. She is nude except for a cape on her back and a piece of flowing drapery across her lap. This is deep pink lined in greenish yellow. She places a garland of flowers around a swan with outspread wings, seated at her right. They are seated on an irregular base.
