About this object

The statuette represents is a nurse and child. The nurse is standing to the right and is bending over a child who is seated on the edge of a white cradle with gold details. The nurse wears a lavender brimmed hat, a blue dress with a bustle held up by straps, a beige apron, a striped pink and green underskirt, and lavender shoes. The child's white flowered dress and striped underskirt are pulled up to reveal a bare left knee. The child's raised right hand held an object. There is a greenish yellow drapery under the cradle which falls on the ground. There is a large white pillow in the cradle with rose-red flowers and gold tassels. At the back of the cradle is an orange and yellow toy drum and a fallen doll. The base is rectangular with cut corners and simulates rocky ground. The sides are decorated with a band of geometric motifs in mauve pink gold and white. This is very heavy.
