About this object

The statuette shows a satyr and a baccante. The satyr is seated on a tree stump while the nymph stands next to him with her left arm around him. Each has a wreath on the head made of grapes and leaves. The satyr holds a basket of grapes and fruit in his lap. Each has a red drapery. Near the base is a child, also with grapes in its hair. The child reaches upwards towards the bacchante, who leans over to grab its hand. The tree stump and ground are mottled green. Around the base is a rococo scroll in gold.
