About this object

The vases have a background which is green. They are decorated in gold with rinceaus and swags of laurel leaves, oak leaves and acorns. The body of the vase is divided into four sections by four vertical gilt ribs against white. The four medallions are linked together, each with a frame of roses painted in colors against a white ground. In the center of two medallions are two cupids seated on clouds. One medallion is painted with a cluster of instruments, ribbons and flowers. One side painted with a cluster of spears, faces, a torch, book, ewer, oak leaves, and a laurel wreath. The cover is melon shaped with green stripes alternating with gilt bell flowers on a white ground. The knop is also melon shaped and gilt. The pedestal foot has around the main portion a rinceau of laurel leaves alternating with oak leaves and acorns. Below this is a band of gilt laurel leaves and finally a circular plinth, the sides being ribbed in gold and white.
