About this object
These ten "Queen's Beasts" were designed for the Coronation of Elizabeth II on June 2, 1953 by Mr. James Woodford, O.B.E. and were set up at the annex at Westminster Abbey. The Unicorn is white with gold hoofs, horn, mane and tufts. He wears the Royal Coronet around its neck with an attached gilt chian and the shield bears the Royal Arms of the Scottich kings.
