These ten "Queen's Beasts" were designed for the Coronation of Elizabeth II on June 2, 1953 by Mr. James Woodford, O.B.E. and were set up at the annex at Westminster Abbey. The Griffin is gold and bears the shield of the present royal livery. This is colored red and gold with the Round Tower of Windsor Castle.
