About this object

The statuette is traditionally known an as allegorical figure of Winter. It is represented as a bearded man standing. He is wrapped in a three quarter length hooded, salmon colored cloak lined in mauve with his hands raised to his chest and concealed in the folds of the cloth to keep them warm. Under the cloak he wears a long white tunic decorated with scattered dotted cross shapes in dark red. He wears black shoes. At the left is a tree stump which is attached to the figure for support. The base is painted in a mottled light brown.
