About this object
The statuettes show a pair of pug dogs. They are seen in profile. .2 shows the female dog with her puppy. She sits upright with her head turned over her left shoulder. Her left front paw is lifted as if to protect the puppy which is nursing. Her tail is curled behind her. She is painted in natural color, and is mounted on an oval gilt bronze bases in the French rococo style.
