About this object

The shape of the vase is derived from a classical model. The ground color is blue. It has snakes curled around the two handles which curl onto the upper rim of the vase. There is a row of beads around the upper rim. It sits on a rectangular base. About the neck is a row of inverted acanthus leaves. About the shoulder is a row of laurel leaves. On the front is a classical scene and on the back several female figures with Cupid. Around the rectangular base is a row of acroteria in white. It has a pedestal foot.
