About this object
The platter is dominated by a large red hawk with its wings spread, the feathers defined by gold lines. Five smaller birds, identified as sparrows, fly above the hawk. Nine rectangular indentations splashed with red form the ends of the platter. These are linked from end to end by a green zig-zag line running back and forth around triangles of gilded lines and red dots. Irregularly formed gold circles provide an overall pattern behind the birds.
