About this object

Bread and butter plate is in a color combination of brick red and medium and light olive on white with gold outlined reserves. A centaur and a herm in grisaille on an olive ground are depicted in central six sided medallion. Around the cavetto is a Greek key motif in gold and classical swans linked by scrolling foliage on a soft olive ground. Panels with paintings of classical ruins and animals bordered by bell flowers ornament the rim, broken only by three medallions with putti.
