About this object
The monteith is painted with two oval scenes (Théatre de Marcel and Vue du Monastère des Chartreaux) and has six-sided panels. Garland of leaves forms border and curves around medallions to make a decorative edge to cooler. Beneath, on the bowl, is a geometrical band which frames flowers, superimposed on the flowers are the landscapes described above. Figureheads are used for handles as part of the design.
