About this object
A raised interlace pattern in the Russian revival style in shades of green, bright blue, and gold decorates the center and border of this bread and salt dish. Each color is bordered in raised gold to give the illusion that metal cloisons separate the colors. The blue and gold interlace on the border is raised above the apple green ground in the same manner. Under the Imperial crown at the top the dish bears the initials N A in Cyrillic for Nikolai Aleksandrovich, the future Nicholas II. Coat of Arms of city of Skopin above the date 1891 flanked by the presentation inscription appears on the bottom.
