About this object

This vase is one of a pair. The ground is turquoise-blue. The vase is made in six separate sections- foot, body, neck, cover and two handles. Molded acanthus leaves cover the bottom of the body and edge the elaborate applied handles. The vase has a large painted panel on the front depicting four Bacchantes. The neck is fluted. On the back is a cluster of flowers in gold.
