About this object
This vase is one of a pair. The ground is turquoise-blue. The vase is made in six separate sections-foot, body, neck, cover and two handles, molded acanthus leaves cover the bottom of the body and edge the elaborate applied handles, the vase has a large painted panel on the front depicting Jupiter in the guise of Diana seducing Callisto; the neck is fluted, on the back is a cluster of flowers in gold.
