About this object
This sugar bowl has two bold gilded c-shaped handles simulating sugar canes and ending with bees where they meet the top of the bowl. Each side is painted with a different hummingbird with a swag of seeds and husks hanging below them. The cover is flat and is bordered by stylized leaves and flowers; the knob is a gilded pinneaple. The flat tray has a narrow standing rim painted with stylized leaves and flowers outside and a wavy ribbon and tendrils inside; the center of the tray is painted similar leaves and flowers arranged as an oval medallion. All these borders and swags are in shaded dull rust red and gold.
