About this object
A pale pink ground highlighted with gold rococo scrolls and areas of white decorated with polychrome flowers distinguishes this elaborate dessert service. The service pieces are elaborately gilded with contrasting areas of matte and burnished gold and foliate and marine motifs in relief. The étagère consists of three graded trays with rims in openwork with a handle at the top in the form of two sea horses. The triangular base is narrow at the top and flares down to three feet shaped like curled acanthus leaves with a dolphin on the round attached to each foot
