About this object
The conical bowl is engraved on one side with the imperial double headed eagle and three floating crowns, set off by a floral spray to the right and the left. On opposite face is an elaborate cartouche formed of banners and military trophies, the whole surmounted by an imperial crown, and, in the center, the initials EP for Elizabeth I (Elizaveta Petrovna). Rim is engraved and ornamented with a series of polished printies. Base of the bowl is engraved with a series of pointed arches. Baluster stem is faceted and is comprised of three proper knops, the center being the largest. Foot is plain with turned edge.
