About this object
Vase is hand-blown in a thick glass and shaped, bulging prominently in the upper part. Neck and lower part are chanelled with 9 facets at the base. Around the central bulge are engraved swags of leaves beneath ribbons and an abstract form reminiscent of a fasces. On base is cut a star. About the base and neck is a narrow ormolu band, engraved with narrow lines (base) and a bud and leaf pattern (top). Vases are unusual size and quality.
