About this object

The plate is made in the Dewdrop with Sheaf of Wheat pattern. The shape is that of a large shallow soup plate. In the center bottom is a sheaf of wheat with 12 rows of small pointed hobnails, known as dewdrops, across the top of the sheaf and 16 curved stalks descending from it, gathered by a tie. There is a band of vertical ribbing around the sloping inner rim. The outer rim has a background of dewdrops and inscription. The edge is scalloped with each scallop containing two dewdrops.
