About this object
The main part of the sugar bowl is based on a classical vase. Around the upper part are bowknots with rosettes from which hang garlands of flowers that form swags across the bowl. The lower part is melon like and stands on a pedestal foot. The crimped base has a sunburst underneath. Around the cover is a series of inverted acanthus leaves on a dotted ground. Its edge is scalloped. There is an oval knop on the top.
