About this object
The conical bowl is engraved and gilded. On one side is a bust of Tsarina Elizabeth I (Elizaveta Petrovna) facing to the right and placed under a canopy supported by two putti. Below this are symbols of war including banners, drums, a series of printies (that may represent cannonballs) and barrels. All of this side with the exception of the portrait of Elizabeth is gilded. On the other face is the Russian imperial eagle with a medallion with the cipher of the Tsarina. The floating crown is unusually large. The lower part of the bowl faceted and decorated with six small bublles placed within the facets. A seventh bubble is placed within the center of the bowl. The baluster stem is composed of three knops: a proper knop above an inverted baluster knop followed by a proper knop. The stem is faceted and and has a decortive continuous bubble. Splay foot is plain. There are three small parallel marks on the edge of the foot.
