About this object
Each represents a female nude seated on a robe on an oval plaque. The one on the left raises her left hand to her head and holds in her right hand a tambourine on top of some grapes and grape leaves and the standard of a banner (.1), all resting on the plaque. The figure on the right holds a spray of roses with her lowered left hand; her right arm rests on her right leg (.3). Each statuette with plaque rests on a pedestal shaped like an oval truncated fluted column, which in turn sits on a separate base decorated with applied gilt bronze vine scroll.
