The round box has gilt metal sides which are decorated with two striated bands. One encircles the lid and the other encircles the lower part of the box. Centered in the lid is a band of dark agate, within which is centered a cross composed of pieces of pinkish agate against a blue green ground. The base is made in striated agate.
