About this object
Labeled "Pine and Red Room," on one side in white painted letters. Paper label affixed to side "Also 3rd Flr Office and Hallway,” empty inside. This series of trunks was presumably used for storing closing-the-house supplies for each room, as labeled, in the Hillwood mansion. After Marjorie Post’s departure from Hillwood to Camp Topridge for the summer or to Mar-A-Lago for the winter, a crew stayed behind to close Hillwood.
