About this object
Folding leaf fan consisting of ten narrow, lacquered, wooden sticks and a wide painted paper leaf. The leaf is painted identically on both the obverse and the reverse. The paper has a gold marbled background, a painted tree trunk, and either juniper or pine branches and needles with dots of blue and yellow. The sticks on either end are sewn onto the paper leaf with white thread. At the head of the fan is white metal pivot.
