About this object
Folding leaf fan consisting of carved and pierced, painted, ivory sticks with pink flowers, green and fold leafs and stems on the obverse. Piercing on the sticks is only present under the leaf. The guards more intricately carved with cut out areas and have a similar floral motif and paint scheme to the stick. The leaf is a double layer of sheer light green silk. The obverse of the fan is hand painted with flowers and the petals of the flower are outlined in gold cord. The head of the fan has a metal pivot and loop with an ivory washer.
