NAPKIN, ONE OF 12
About this object
Square off-white cotton organdy napkins with embroidered decoration. Edges are scalloped and bound by button hole stich embroidery in a grey-blue thread. The remaining decoration is concentrated to the lower right corner of napkin (so visible at an angle when quarter-folded) and features four light-blue repeating fish at that scalloped corner outlined in satin and button-hole stiches. Their gills are cutaway eyelets. Just above, at a diagonal angle in dark blue block printed embroidered text reads “Sea Cloud”. Above it are two crossed flags, one blue triangular with a red cross and white center, the second, yellow with a blue and white “x”, both in satin stitch embroidery.
