About this object
Tapered conical cup (Stopa), with portraits in oval medallions of Tsar Mikhail Fedorovich, Emperor Nicholas II and Russian patriotic hero, Ivan Susanin surrounded by wreaths, double-headed Eagles, Arms and inscriptions which read: “In commemoration of the tercentinary of the House of Romanov( 1613-1913).” (Въ памѧть трехсотлетiя дома Романовых 1613—1913). At the rim are inscriptions which read. “I have no Fear of Death; I have no fear of fear; I support Tsar and Russia.” “СТРАХА НЕ СТРАШУСЬ СМЕРТИ НЕ БОЮСЬ ЛЯГУ ЗА ЦАРЯ И РУСЬ.” The cup has the stamp of the maker Vladimir Bonaker. His factory was located in Moscow on Velaminovsky Street, Dom 34. Bonaker was one of Russia’s most famous producers of tinware. His production was also were used by other major confectioneries, including the Einem Company (now Red October), and Sioux and Co. (now Bolshevik) and the Abrikosov factory. Another example of this cup is located in the collections of the State Ethnographic Museum, St. Petersburg (Inv. No Errz-6568)
