About this object

The tall pillbox shaped hat is covered in flocked black pile on white flocked fabric, with the black pile being somewhat longer. The sides are covered in the same loosely pleated fabric which overlaps as it meets on the side. The front is cut out with a slight sweetheart shape on the lower edge. The top of the crown is flat. Inside, the hat is lined with black satin on the sides and white under the crown. It’s signed by the maker in red thread. There is a small matching hat pin made of folded black velvet ribbon creating a tab which is .25” high on a 3” metal pin.
