About this object

Black velvet pill box shape, with single stylized, flocked flower on front in brown satin, Shibori style pleated fabric creating a spherical flower approximately 2.5” x 3”, plus a double turned spiral form covered in brown satin ribbon. Black netting drapes around 75% of the hat, applied just over the crown indention and gathers at the back edge. The inside band is covered in red taffeta with black embroidery, signed by the maker in thread. Glue marks remain in an X pattern inside the crown which appear to have covered a stamp on the body “Jacomet, body made in France
