About this object

The square cigarette case features rich niello decoration on each side. The top presents a view of the Kremlin Palace in Moscow from the Moskva River, framed by a frieze and stylized scrolls. The bottom features a geometric composition, with a central circle surrounded by classical friezes and stylized scrolls. The gilt interior bears hallmarks and an engraved inscription and has two strips to hold cigarettes.
