NECKLACE
Creator(s): Cartier (Firm)
About this object
The pearls are said to have come from a larger string often worn by Marjorie Post, which was divided into necklaces for each daughter.
The necklace features forty-three graduated natural pearls and a platinum clasp set with one narrow table-cut diamond in the center and two triangular table-cut diamonds on either side. Two smaller diamonds in a tulip-shaped platinum setting are placed on either side of the clasp, adjoining the string of pearls. The largest pearl is 1.2 cm in diameter; the smallest is 0.7 cm in diameter.
