The locket is oval in shape. The outside is engraved with an elaborate scroll design that resembles leaves and flowers. On one side a blank space has been left for a monogram. There is a suspension loop at the top. The hinge is placed on the side. Inside are places for two photographs, one of which is CW Post as a young man.
