About this object
Part of a garniture with two urns (cassolettes). Leaning against the round clock case at the right is a semi-draped nymph in lacquered bronze in the round, placing a garland around the shoulders of a winged putto at the left, leaning on his stomach on the case; a floral garland in high relief rests around the top of the case. At the lower left is the fringed end of a piece of drapery descending from under the figures. Within its folds are two crossed torches and a bow, all in the round. The shaped base is in dark red mottled marble with five applied plaques with a frieze of romping putti in low relief.
