About this object
The case of the clock works is drum-shaped and topped by a small urn in marble with scrolled handles. Attached to the underside of the drum are two floral sprays joined with a cluster of small trophies all in case flat openwork in gilt metal. The case is supported on either side by a column in whited and gray marble, decorated with beading amd topped by a lyre with laurel sprays. The shaped base, in white marble, is decorated with a floral vine in a recess on the front and sides, beading, and leaf clusters, and rests on four top-like feet, all in gilt metal.
